End-of-Life and Replacement of HF Inductors

Taiyo Yuden discontinued various inductors with a Last Time Buy (LTB) at the end of 2022.

Among other things, the popular high-frequency (HF) multilayer chip inductors of the HK series are affected. For the upcoming redesign, we can help you directly with replacement solutions from Prosperity Dielectrics (PDC).

PDC also manufactures high-frequency inductors using multilayer technology.

We can replace the Taiyo Yuden series HK0603, HK1005 and HK1608 as consumer, as well as partially in the automotive version.

In the consumer version, the inductance values ​​in the EIA size 0201 range from 0.3nH to 100nH, in the size 0402 from 0.3nH to 270nH and in 0603 from 1nH to 470nH.

In the automotive version, values ​​are available in size 0402 to 100nH and in size 0603 to 120nH.

Depending on the inductance value, the tolerances are with Z: ±0.1nH; U:±0.2nH; S:±0.3nH; G:±2%; H:±3% or J:±5% indicated.

Multilayer high-frequency inductors are characterized by their high Q-factor and are intended for use in high-frequency circuits such as Bluetooth, wireless LAN, HF filter and oscillator circuits.

Due to the efficient manufacturing technology, the multilayer chip inductors are commercially cheaper than the wire-wound versions.
