Patented Non-Wetting Supercaps

Double-layer capacitors can now be found in a wide variety of areas. They are used for energy storage in buses and trains or in automatic emergency door opening systems.

Vinatech has now launched a patented version on the market that is resistant to the wetting effect. Under unfavourable conditions, the wetting effect on DL caps can lead to a defect in the entire application.

With the WEC series from Vinatech, you can counteract this problem by relying on the WEC series from Vinatech instead of conventional DL caps.

Vinatech offers both single cells and modules of 2 cells connected in series.

In the single cell range, designs from Ø8x13mm to Ø18x59mm are available. With a voltage of 3.0V, capacitance values of 1F to 100F are achieved here. Vinatech specifies the usable temperature range as -40°C to +65°C. The cells can also be operated up to +85°C under certain conditions.

The modules are offered in the value range from 0.5F to 12.5F. The module voltage here is 6V. The temperature range is analogue to the single cells.
